Duties and responsibilities:


                   Ophthalmologists are physicians who specialize in treatments of eye disorders and disease. They treat vision problems and write prescriptions for both pharmaceuticals and corrective eyeglass lenses. When necessary, they perform eye surgery. Most ophthalmologist are in private practice, however some are employed by hospitals or clinics, other perform research.

Average salary: $90,000-$150,000

Educational Requirements:


                Only physicians may study to become ophthalmologists. After completing medical school and an internship, an ophthalmologist must then complete a three to five year residency program they must pass an examination to be certified.


 

Refection:


                This career seems very interesting and well paid. I do not think I would like to be a ophthalmologist because I have no interest in studying the human eye. I also don’t want to do hard research. Ophthalmologist need a lot of schooling just like a doctor and I do not want to go to school for that long.
